Business Agent Matt Lydon - (6/5/2007)

Dear Brother & Sisters,
As one of the new Business Agents here at Local 525 I was asked to write an article for the new Newsletter. I want to take this opportunity, first to thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our fine industry. Our Forefathers would be proud of the direction we as a local union are heading, we are meeting the challenges head on and not backing down from adversity, but we need to continue to focus on the future and ask ourselves, are we as members giving all we need to secure our future for our next generation and the ones after that? One way of doing this is to educate ourselves and our newly organized Brothers and Sisters so that we become second to none in quality and productivity. The challenges ahead will define us as craftsman. How we conduct ourselves in these promising times will determine how well we leave the next generation of fine UA Craftsman. I ask you to ask yourself, am I doing my part? It looks as though we are doing well, but we must do better and take painstaking measures to protect our jurisdiction from the crafts that choose to attack the work the our Forefathers fought and died for.

Fraternally Yours,
Matt Lydon Business Agent
